Can I beat Myeloma?

The hair is back and it has started to go into tiny baby curls. Still no need for a hairdresser just yet. We have had a very happy and relaxing holiday week. Hope you have too. We are lucky with beautiful weather and being treated by friends and neighbours to delicious dinners. Christmas Eve BBQ steak on the deck with Sarah in glorious sunshine Christmas Day was spent playing with a wonderful range of new kitchen gadgets/thingies. Here are a couple to guess what they are used for: and a beautiful new board made by Simon King; Sarah hopes to copy it. We had our first real wet day so picked a woodland walk up through the forest to Queenstown Hill. At 3pm the sun burnt away the clouds and roasted us all. Luckily with nothing to cook we could throw on the shorts and head off to our wonderful neighbours Krysia and David who managed to cater for all tastes. A big thank you to everyone who has sent best wishes and messages of encouragement, as I start the next stage of the myeloma treatment. It has been much appreciated and I have been touched. I count myself lucky to have such good friends around the world. I do have a cancer that is, at least treatable, although it is not yet curable. Others I know of, are not so fortunate. For me, there is still hope, and as long as I can, I will try to fight off the bad side effects and keep on smiling. Two new additions to the sculptures in our garden make me smile every day when I see them. Esme (Esmeralda) the black sheep of the family and a cute metal kiwi. On a very positive note, my skin has begun to regenerate. It has been a bit sensitive to temperature and irritation; my eyes have often streamed and my skin has been very itchy, but this has passed.
